Its latest expression, Spaniel Gin, has been released in time for Christmas. Like the breed, Spaniel Gin is spicy and spirited but very gentle. Using mace and cinnamon, this gin has great warmth and intensity with a silky soft coating.

This follows the launch of Labrador Gin in summer 2018. Carefully created to reflect the breed, Labrador Gin is traditional, soft in the mouth and warming – it has a classic juniper-forward profile with a seasoned coriander and cardamom finish.

Persie Gin is named after the former Persie Hotel in Glenshee where the gin is made in a refurbished cowshed. For each bottle sold, Persie Distillery will donate £1 to PADS, in addition to an annual lump sum, all of which will go towards providing care and shelter for abandoned dogs.

Simon Fairclough, Distiller and Managing Director, explains:

“With five regular distillery dogs, it’s a perfect fit for us to team up with a small charity that makes a big difference to dogs’ lives. PADS’ stirling work in finding secure and loving homes for abandoned dogs is life-changing – for both the dogs and owners – and we are proud to be a partner.”

Alison Kennedy, Director at PADS, says:

“‘All of us at PADS are delighted to have Persie Gin as our sponsor. We feel that this is an ideal partnership between a thriving Perthshire business and one of the county’s best-known and best-loved charities.”
