Amanda Brown

Project Director

Amanda has recently taken on the role of Project Director at The Knowledge Bank which is a new service launched by the Scotland Food & Drink Partnership and challenged with the task of identifying and developing new market opportunities using, research, insight, market data and knowledge to deliver sustainable growth for the Scottish food and drink industry. 

With a career spanning almost 30 years working in the food and drink industry in Scotland, Amanda’s experience includes marketing and selling beer at Scottish & Newcastle, marketing whisky at Glenmorangie, economic development at Scottish Enterprise and in market research as Strategic Insight Director for Kantar Worldpanel in Scotland.  Her current role at SAOS which she does alongside The Knowledge Bank involves helping develop some of Scotland’s key food supply chains including venison, dairy, premium cheese, apples and most recently flowers.

Amanda was also involved in setting up Scotland Food & Drink and spent 9 years working at the organisation in both Marketing and Communications roles, and latterly as the Industry Development Director where she was responsible for driving the first Scottish food and drink industry strategy for growth involving many stakeholders. 

Outside work, Amanda’s key role is as a taxi driver, banker and touch line fan to her two sons, chief dog walker for Cory and head chef for the Brown household.  She also plays a bit of tennis in her spare time.
