Compass Scotland is a localised offering of Compass Group UK&I working behind the scenes with clients to meet the specific catering needs of its Scottish customers. Today, Compass Scotland operates in over 300 sites across a range of business sectors, employing people from communities throughout the country and sourcing sustainable, locally produced food and beverages wherever possible.
The Opportunity
Compass is an innovative leader in sustainability with an ambitious target and commitment to reaching climate net zero by 2030 in their UK & I business. To support this, Compass Scotland is looking to work with Scottish suppliers to help find sustainable solutions to meet its supply chain needs.
In partnership with Scotland Food & Drink, Compass Scotland will host a Meet the Buyer Sustainability Day for the opportunity to pitch to a panel of key decision makers from across the business.
This opportunity is available to Scottish food and drink producers with an ambition to supply Compass in Scotland and the scale to grow.
Supply Criteria
- Suppliers must have a demonstrable commitment to sustainability
- Suppliers must be accredited with SALSA, BRC or an equivalent technical standard
- Products must be fit for purpose in a foodservice application
- Suppliers must be able to deliver direct or via Lomond Foods
- Supplier must adhere to Compass Responsible Sourcing policies
- Suppliers must commit to establishing Science Based Targets within 12 months of contract start
- Suppliers in high-risk categories to be registered and connected to us on Sedex, or equivalent
- Supplier must agree to Compass Group Supplier Code of Conduct

Compass is looking for the following products and is also open to exploring innovation that may enhance the offering in Scottish sites.
- Ethically sourced, low carbon and sustainable product options
- Cold pressed Rapeseed Oil, Honey & Preserves, Ice-cream, Fresh Farmed Trout, Chicken, Eggs, Charcuterie, Plant-based milk alternatives
- Plant forward products – reduced dairy and meat-based
- Products that represent traditional Scotland with a modern sustainable twist
- Innovative solutions
