Scottish food and drink businesses are being invited to share their views on Net Zero and the support they require to achieve it.

Launched by Scotland Food & Drink Partnership’s Net Zero Commitment and running until the end of September, the Business Support Research Survey seeks input from businesses across the sector to shape the future of support initiatives.

The information gathered from this industry wide survey will form the basis for the Commitment’s future recommendations and support future strategies by the Scottish Government and partners.

If you’re scared of scoping emissions or wondering if you’re curating carbon-conscious cuisine, this survey is for you. Businesses from every part of the food and drink supply chain—from primary production to final product delivery—are invited to take part.

The collected data will be subjected to rigorous statistical analysis to ensure reliability, providing a solid foundation for the Commitment’s recommendations and support measures.

Iain Clunie, Director of the Net Zero Commitment, stressed the importance of widespread participation in the survey: "To ensure we can develop the best possible support, it is crucial that as many Scottish food and drink businesses as possible participate in this survey.

“Achieving a significant number of respondents from a range of sectors will enable us to deliver comprehensive and scientifically sound recommendations to help businesses transition to Net Zero. Together, we can ensure we reach our Net Zero target and ensure a profitable, sustainable and successful food and drink industry for Scotland."

The Net Zero Commitment focuses on understanding and meeting the needs of food and drink businesses striving to meet Net Zero by 2045 and wants to understand the support needed for businesses to reach that ambition.
