Taste of Angus Festival Returns to Celebrate Local Food and Drink

The Taste of Angus Festival is returning from 31^st August to 7^th September, in venues across Angus, to celebrate the region’s rich culinary heritage and showcase the incredible talent of local food and drink producers, growers and hospitality venues.

Now in its 2^nd year, this week-long event, organised by Appetite for Angus, is dedicated to promoting sustainable food practices, supporting local businesses, and educating the community about the importance of sourcing and enjoying fresh, high-quality ingredients.  Appetite for Angus, founded in early 2020, is the areas Regional Food Group and now has over 100 members across all aspects of the food & drink sector.

“By attending events at the Taste of Angus Festival, you are directly contributing to the local economy and supporting the farmers, producers, and hospitality venues who are passionate about bringing you the best food and drink”, explains Appetite for Angus spokesperson Fiona Walsh.  “When we choose to buy and enjoy local, we not only enjoy fresher, more tasty products but also help to preserve our agricultural heritage and create a more sustainable future”.

Highlights of the Taste of Angus Festival

• Food & Drink Tour of Arbroath Abbey: Discover the important role food & drink has had in the history of Arbroath Abbey during this exclusive tour.
• Weaning Workshops: Learn essential tips and techniques for introducing solid foods to your baby in a safe and nutritious way.
• Hairst Festival: Gather in the grounds of House of Dun to celebrate the bounty of the harvest with traditional music, food, and activities for the whole family.
• Explore a Working Mill: Family fun at Barry Mill, including local food & drink and tours of the Mill.
• Screening of Six Inches of Soil: This thought-provoking documentary explores the importance of healthy soil and sustainable farming practices. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion.
• Local Food & Drink at a Local Derby: Enjoy a taste of Angus while cheering on Arbroath or Montrose at Gayfield Park.
• Celebrating Collaborations: Enjoy Pizza and Pie Making with Wee Cook & Fallones, or learn how to make the perfect espresso martini with Arbroath businesses Redcastle & Sacred Grounds.
