Introducing WESTWERK03: A Rich Collaboration Between WEST Brewery and Douglas Laing’s Timorous Beastie, Launching December 2nd

Rooted in Scotland’s vibrant brewing and distilling traditions, WEST Brewery is thrilled to announce WESTWERK03, a barrel-aged Doppelbock beer crafted in collaboration with Douglas Laing & Co. and aged in Timorous Beastie whisky casks. This release is a celebration of Scottish heritage, bringing together two of Glasgow’s finest crafts in a limited-edition beer to be released on December 1st.

A Meeting of Tradition and Craftsmanship

Behind every bottle of WESTWERK03 lies a collaboration that celebrates Glasgow’s rich brewing and distilling heritage. This limited-edition barrel-aged Doppelbock was crafted by WEST Brewery and matured in ex-Bourbon casks from Douglas Laing’s Highland Blended Malt, Timorous Beastie.

Inspired by the 1600s Paulaner monks who pioneered this bountiful brew, WESTWERK03 is brewed with Light Munich, Aromatic, and Dark Crystal malts, it is then aged for 80 days in Timorous Beastie whisky casks, imparting bold Malt flavours with subtle warmth, dark chocolate, oak, and hints of dark fruit.

To celebrate this partnership, each box of WESTWERK03 includes two pouches of Timorous Beastie Highland Blended Malt, giving you a taste of the very spirit that was previously in the casks.
