The awards have been created to discover and support the next generation of Scottish food and drink innovation, with finalists invited to showcase their products at Taste of Lomond 2027, Lomond Wholesale’s annual tradeshow, taking place at SEC Glasgow on 24–25 February 2027.

The launch forms part of a significant year for Lomond Wholesale, which will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2027. Established in Glasgow in 1997, the family-owned wholesaler has continued to work closely with Scottish producers and suppliers, helping innovative products reach foodservice customers across the country.

“Scotland has an incredible food and drink community, and we want the Lomond Innovation Awards to help shine a light on the products and ideas that could shape the future of our industry. As we celebrate 30 years of Lomond, it felt like the right time to create an opportunity that not only recognises innovation, but provides practical support to help businesses take their next step.”
Meghan Sievewright - Procurement Director, Lomond Wholesale.

What are the Lomond Innovation Awards?

The awards are open to Scottish food and drink innovators who have developed a product or idea with the potential to make an impact within the industry.

Lomond is looking for entries that demonstrate one or more of the following:

The awards are open to both emerging and established businesses, providing an opportunity for innovators to put their products in front of Lomond’s buying and sales teams, alongside foodservice professionals and industry visitors attending Taste of Lomond.

Unfortunately, alcohol products are not eligible to enter.

A prize designed to support growth

The Main Prize has been designed to offer more than a financial award, providing practical support to help an innovative Scottish product progress towards the foodservice market.

The winner will receive:

  • £2,500 cash
  • A six-month trial listing with Lomond Wholesale
  • Professional photography and video content
  • Six months of promotional support across flyers, website banners and social media
  • The opportunity to present to Lomond’s buying and sales teams
  • Route-to-market and foodservice pricing guidance
  • A complimentary stand at Taste of Lomond 2028
  • The Lomond Innovation Awards 2027 trophy

There will also be awards recognising Sustainability and People’s Choice, giving entrants further opportunities to have their innovation recognised.

Showcase your innovation at Taste of Lomond
