Job Summary
The Brand, Comms & Events Intern is a temporary role which will support a team of nine who deliver the marketing, communications and events for Scotland Food & Drink, its members and the wider food and drink industry.
The internship will support the team as a whole (four events personnel, five comms/brand personnel) with administrative, research and other tasks as required alongside shadowing members of the team during the internship. This includes helping at events, supporting on activity as part of the Scotland Food & Drink comms and events strategy, and attending meetings.
About the Role
The role will include but not be limited to the following tasks, in collaboration with the relevant post holder in the team
Content Creation and Social Media:
- Help research and create social media posts for Scotland Food & Drink's LinkedIn and Instagram accounts
Website and Digital Creation:
- Research and create copy for the website and other digital assets (e.g. newsletters)
Event Support:
- Undertake research on venues, travel and speakers etc for upcoming events to assist the events strategy
- Attend Scotland Food & Drink events to support the on-site team where viable
- Help prepare information for events for members, staff briefings etc.
About You
You are a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in marketing, communications, events or the food and drink industry. You do not need to have previous professional experience – what matters most is that you are eager to learn, willing to get stuck in and excited by the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced team.
You will thrive in this role if you:
- Have a curiosity for storytelling, content creation or digital communications
- Are organised, detail-oriented and able to manage your own time effectively
- Are a confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Have an interest in or awareness of Scotland's food and drink sector
- Are proactive and not afraid to ask questions or share ideas
