Bidfood is a leading foodservice supplier to the catering and hospitality market, providing quality food and drink to hotels, restaurants and cafes, as well as to care homes, healthcare and education customers across the country. Working with more than 100 Scottish suppliers, ranging from artisan producers to nationally recognised brands, Bidfood Scotland is proud to supply over 700 locally sourced food and drink products and is keen to develop its range further.
In partnership with Scotland Food & Drink and WSH Group (representing Baxter Storey and Benugo), Bidfood will host a Meet the Buyer with pre-selected producers for the opportunity to pitch their products and secure a Scotland-wide listing.
Bidfood is looking for new products to help them to deliver their local sourcing vision in the out-of-home foodservice market. The strategic pillars for suppliers are:
- Story – tell a story with the people and products
- Sustainability – whether you use sustainably sourced ingredients or products, how you operate your manufacturing site, or the packaging used
- Safety – is very important and Bidfood require SALSA accreditation (as a minimum)
- Scope – to grow a category with a range of products
- Savings – can your products save a chef or catering manager time or money?
Bidfood is specifically looking for products to fulfil the following customer need:
- Sausage & Bacon
- Deli Meats
- Venison
- Free Range Eggs
- Yoghurts
- Oatcakes
- Traybakes
- Teabags
- Frozen Shellfish
This opportunity is open to any Scottish food and drink producer or manufacturer with ambition to supply Bidfood in Scotland and scale to grow.
Successful suppliers will be on-boarded by January and auto-enrolled to the Scottish e-commerce platform on Bidfood Direct, supported by Scotland Food & Drink for the opportunity to showcase and sell your products to over 5,000 Bidfood customers across the country.
