In partnership with Scotland Food & Drink, Bidfood will host a Meet the Buyer opportunity to pre-selected producers, providing the chance to pitch products and secure a Scotland-wide listing, with scope to expand into Cumbria and the North East.

Bidfood is a leading foodservice supplier to the catering and hospitality market, providing quality food and drink to hotels, restaurants and cafes, as well as to care homes, healthcare and education customers across the country. Working with more than 100 Scottish suppliers, ranging from artisan producers to nationally recognised brands, Bidfood is proud to supply over 700 locally-sourced food and drink products, and is keen to develop its range further.  

 

The Opportunity 

Bidfood is looking for new products, across all categories to help it deliver its local sourcing vision in the out-of-home foodservice market. The strategic pillars for suppliers are:

Story
Tell a story with the people and products.

Sustainability
Whether you use sustainably-sourced ingredients or products, how you operate your manufacturing site, or the packaging used. 

Safety
Bidfood require SALSA accreditation (as a minimum). 

Scope
To grow a category with a range of products. 

Savings
Products that can save a chef or catering manager time or money. 

 

Supply Criteria 

Bidfood is interested in receiving applications from producers across all food and drink categories, including ambient, chilled and frozen products. 

  • All suppliers must be SALSA accredited as a minimum. 
  • Suppliers should have capability to supply to Glasgow or Edinburgh depots.
  • Suppliers should have capacity to scale in Scotland and Cumbria.

Applications close at 12 noon on Wednesday 1 April 2026. 

Suppliers will pre-qualify based on the agreed criteria. Bidfood will shortlist producers in advance. Shortlisted suppliers will be invited to a 20-minute pitch meeting with the Bidfood team at the Hospitality Hub in Larbert. Full details will be confirmed if successful. 

Shortlisted applicants will be notified at least 21 days in advance of the event. Further information to follow.
