Lazy Day has announced a hat-trick of new product retail listings to conclude a successful year for the award-winning, free-from and vegan sweet treat brand.

Following on from unveiling a joyful new branded look earlier in the year, Lazy Day has been successful in securing three new branded product retail listings with Tesco, Co-op, Waitrose, and Ocado.

The new listings include the award-winning Belgian Chocolate Cake Bars (winner of a Free-From Food Award, Scotland Food & Drink Excellence Award, and Scottish Retail Food & Drink Award), and a new product to the Lazy Day range Salted Caramel Crispies. Both of these products will be available to purchase in Tesco stores UK-wide from mid-January 2023 and marks the return of the Lazy Day brand to Tesco.

The launch of a much-anticipated gluten-free, milk and egg-free, and vegan mini caterpillar cake has been designed to bring out the inner child in us all. Mini Vic the Vegan Caterpillar Cakes will launch in stores at Co-op from 9th January. These deliciously decadent individual cakes are sure to become a firm favourite with both children and adults, echoing the Lazy Day ethos around inclusivity of indulgent treats for all.

Waitrose has added a fourth product to their existing range of Lazy Day traybakes, also now listing the new Salted Caramel Crispies giving the Lazy Day bold new look a great shelf presence within Waitrose stores. Online retailer Ocado has also completed its range of Lazy Day products with the addition of the new Salted Caramel Crispies.

Lazy Day has long pioneered the creation of deliciously indulgent award-winning, free from and vegan bakes. With innovation at the heart of every product, they are always created with the guiding principle that taste is at the top of the table. The only thing more joyful than sweet treats, are sweet treats that can be enjoyed by everyone!

In July, The Grocer published research by Kantar WorldPanel for the 12 months to April 17 which revealed the annual UK market for free-from foods is worth £3.17 billion, having grown in value by 1.5% and in volume by 1.3%. Ambient bakery was worth £18.6 million, up 7.5%, suggesting there is growing consumer appetite and growth opportunities for Lazy Day.

Following on from a bold new re-brand in May 2022, Lazy Day has seen an increase in branded sales across all retailers.

Lorna Love, Sales Director at Lazy Day says “We are delighted to have secured new product listings in Tesco, Co-op, Waitrose, and Ocado. Innovation, taste and inclusion have always been at the heart of the brand, and these new products capture the Lazy Day values. In particular, the fun addition of Mini Vic the Vegan Caterpillar, which we are sure will become a firm favourite with many children suffering from food allergies.”

“Our new listings are also testament to the success of our re-brand which has proven to have given us a better shelf presence in retailers. We have lots of fantastic new products in the pipeline and look forward to kicking off 2023 with the launch of these products”.
