Jackton Distillery, an independent and family-owned whisky-maker on the outskirts of Glasgow, has been announced as a finalist for three categories at this year’s Scottish Whisky Awards, proving size is no barrier to success.

The distillery is shortlisted for:

Best Blended Scotch - for both its Amontillado and Oloroso Whisky Expressions
Tourism Destination of the Year
Distillery of the Year

The nominations place Jackton Distillery shoulder-to-shoulder up against some of the biggest names in Scotch whisky, including Isle of Harris Distillers, who took Distillery of the Year in 2024, Lochranza Distillery, and Rosebank Distillery.

“When we won back-to-back gold in 2022 and 2023 in the Best Blended Scotch category, it was a complete game-changer for us", said Jaynie Kean, Managing Director at Jackton Distillery. "It was totally unexpected in a way, but once news started circulating, the Oloroso expression sold out overnight. For a family-owned business of our size, it was a glimmer of recognition, and we are hungry for more. We hope that being nominated in three categories, including 'Distillery of the Year', will continue to help put our story out into the world"

Jaynie Kean, Managing Director at Jackton Distillery, will also be attending The Spirits Business Awards in London this November as one of the three finalists for The Young Achiever of the Year award.

Originating as a family farm, Jackton Distillery has fast become a rising star in Scotland's whisky and tourism scene. An already popular visitor destination, the distillery has expanded to offer immersive tours, tastings, and a year-round calendar of events that connect locals and tourists directly to the spirit of Scotch whisky making. Most recently, the distillery joined the programme of this year's Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival, allowing members of the public to view their onsite drum malting plant for the very first time.

The distillery's single malt Scotch whisky was first filled into cask in 2020, with an inaugural release highly anticipated for 2026. Whilst details remain under wraps, whisky enthusiasts can look forward to more updates and previews as the release date approaches.
