Isle of Harris Distillery today announces its collaboration with Loganair, launching an initiative which will provide an opportunity for 5,000 customers on board Loganair flights in December to be treated to its signature Scotch Malt Whisky - The Hearach - as a celebration of the new year.

This activation, between two iconic Scottish brands, reinforces the commitment each has to serving and celebrating the Outer Hebridean community. Championing Scottish craftsmanship, heritage and the lifeline connections that sustain remote communities, customers on board all Loganair flights on both Tuesday 30 and Wednesday 31 December will receive a bespoke 50ml sample of The Hearach malt whisky.

Loganair has long demonstrated its dedication to supporting Scotland’s communities and industries, including expanding its services in 1964 to deliver newspapers to Stornoway in a move that kept islanders connected to the mainland. This commitment has since grown to ensure essential goods and services from the local community are transported to the mainland. The partnership further builds upon this by allowing travellers from all over the UK to discover Isle of Harris Distillery and its core malt whisky, The Hearach.

Ron MacEachran, Executive Chairman at Isle of Harris Distillery, said: “Our founding mission – to help regenerate the island’s economy - has always been rooted in bottling the spirit of the Isle of Harris to share with the world, so we’re delighted to raise a dram with Loganair this festive season and take The Hearach to the skies. Offering passengers a taste of The Hearach is a small gesture of island hospitality at a time of year when so many return home, from their adopted homes near and far, to celebrate the spirit of Hogmanay.

"As Scotland’s airline, Loganair plays a vital role in connecting our island community with the mainland, and its long relationship with the Outer Hebrides – from transporting newspapers to the island in the sixties to showcasing Harris Tweed on board today – makes this collaboration feel especially meaningful. We look forward to exploring more ways to work together and to celebrate the craft, culture and spirit of the Outer Hebrides in 2026. In the meantime, we hope customers on board Loganair flights enjoy our New Year drams.”

Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer at Loganair, said: “We have been deeply connected to Scotland's island communities for more than 60 years and are proud to join with the Isle of Harris Distillery to offer our customers a seasonal dram.

"Celebrating the season with our customers – many of whom are travelling to some of Scotland’s most remote communities to spend time with loved ones over the festive period – reflects the significant role we continue to play in supporting the places we serve.

"Our collaboration with the Isle of Harris Distillery brings together two organisations with a shared commitment to Scotland’s island communities, and we’re pleased to offer travellers a taste of The Hearach as part of their special journeys. We look forward to building on this partnership in the year ahead.”

This special collaboration between Loganair and Isle of Harris Distillery will serve to be a memorable gift for revellers bringing in the new year both on the island and travelling to the mainland.
