The Great Taste awards are renowned for their rigorous blind judging process, with 13,672 products evaluated this year. Nakey Bakey’s Mixed Berry Granola stood out for its “attractive mix of grains, flakes, and puffs,” with judges praising its “clean, nutty, toasty aroma” and “pure, natural, and unadulterated” flavour profile. The balance of sweetness, derived entirely from fruit, was highlighted as “spot on.”

Judges lauded the granola as “very attractive, with visible colourful fruit and a selection of interesting, balanced ingredients.” The toasting and consistency of the granola were particularly appreciated, noting it as a delightful aspect during chewing. Her inspiration for Nakey Bakey stemmed from her personal struggles with a nut allergy and a chronic health condition called Endometriosis. Certain foods exacerbated her symptoms, causing significant pain, which led her to explore food products free from all 14 common allergens. However, Megan discovered that the market offered few such products, and those available were often unhealthy, high in sugar, and laden with processed ingredients.

Determined to find a solution, Megan began experimenting in her home kitchen, creating her own allergen-free granola using real, natural, and healthy ingredients. As a personal trainer, she wanted her products to offer numerous health benefits, unlike many other companies. Her goal was to create a granola that was not only low in sugar but also made with ingredients that could help manage her Endometriosis symptoms naturally. Megan's vision was to provide others with a delicious product that also promoted health and well-being.

Thus, Nakey Bakey was born. Megan is on a mission to help others enjoy delicious, healthy foods without compromising taste, especially those who suffer from food allergens. Nakey Bakey granola is versatile—it can be enjoyed as a snack with yogurt and fruit, as a cereal with milk, incorporated into baking, or even heated with milk to create a flavoured porridge.
