Leading lights of the Scottish food and drink industry will descend on Edinburgh next month for the Scotland Food & Drink industry conference.

Held on 29 March, the conference sponsored by Drac Logistics and CMS, will hear from inspirational speakers including giants Marks & Spencer and Alibaba, who will outline their view of the market, consumer trends, and what they’re looking for when partnering with Scottish suppliers.

Some of the nation’s most dynamic and exciting brands and online retailers including John Gilmour Butchers, Donald Russell, Gin Bothy and Best of British Beer, will speak to the conference theme of “grow local, grow global”, discussing their business journeys, building resilience, market opportunities and their sustainability approaches.

The speaker line-up will be closed by global influence, sales, collaboration, and leadership speaker Duncan Stevens, to motivate delegates on how to maximise their influence with customers.

Tickets for the conference are available on the Scotland Food & Drink website.

The conference, which is taking place at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, will encompass everything from making the move into the digital space, embracing e-commerce, to getting a foothold into wider UK markets. Participants will leave armed with the tools to help their business grow, both locally and globally having gained insights into consumer trends, how to build resilience, and how to position their products in the market.

Iain Baxter, chief executive at Scotland Food & Drink, said: “Our industry conference is an excellent opportunity for businesses to hear from inspirational speakers and to make new connections. As well as hearing from major buyers and companies who are growing both locally and globally, we’ll be setting out our revitalised industry strategy, outlining what we will all need to focus on over the next ten years to achieve stability and growth. It’s guaranteed to be a rewarding day.”

Scottish artisan gin and rum distiller, Gin Bothy will be joining the line up on the day to discuss the growth journey they have been on, challenges they are preparing for going forward and insight into building resilience. Kim Cameron, founder of Gin Bothy, said “It is such an exciting time to be part of Scotland’s food and drink industry. Scotland Food and Drink have been an integral part of my growth journey over the last couple of years and I am really looking forward to this year’s conference. Events like this are really important to come together, share ideas and be inspired.”
