Foodservice Customer & Local Supplier Officer

Salary: £26,250 annually

Annual Leave entitlement: 25 days (plus 10 bank holidays)

Working hours: Full time

Contract: 24 months - Temporary contract

Location: Based full time at Bidfood offices with the requirement to attend team meetings at SF&D offices in Edinburgh approximately 1 day a month. There will be opportunities for hybrid working after initial training/induction period.

JOB SUMMARY

This is an important project which requires an enthusiastic individual, eager to learn. The successful candidate will work with the foodservice business customers and sales teams to help develop the trading capabilities of suppliers, through effective product ranging, promotions and marketing to help both the suppliers, and the foodservice business, to significantly grow sales.

The ultimate objective of the post is to support the foodservice business by building a strong core of local SMEs who understand the requirements and opportunities within foodservice and who adopt an ethos of continual improvement and innovation, exploring new markets and products, and make full use of local provenance.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Support the delivery of a commercial growth strategy unique to the foodservice business
  • Reporting to Head of Commercial Growth Initiatives UK to grow sales through analysis of sales performance, waste and margin data and delivery of effective product ranging (including new product development) and promotions
  • Working with the Sales function, to grow sales through delivery of effective consumer communications, promotions and events
  • Support Marketing Team with delivery and content, including promotional collateral
  • Provide support to suppliers to develop capabilities in performance and data analysis, business planning and reporting, product ranging and promotional planning
  • Support the department administration; from managing sales trackers, to meetings and event and exhibition set up
  • Support the department administration; pricing, invoice queries and product listings
  • Key liaison between suppliers, and all other departments e.g. sales teams & e-commerce
  • Work to agreed targets, monitor progress and deliver regular reports

  • Experience at working and negotiating throughout all levels of an organisation

  • Full clean driving licence and ability to work across the area as required for customer base
